I’m sure we all have heard the old saying that “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” This couldn’t be more true than when it comes to our health. This week I’ve been busy getting my health screenings and annual exams. It’s time consuming, but taking care of myself is worth every minute that I spent in the waiting rooms and on the examination tables. We all should be sure that we get the health screenings, tests and check ups that are recommended by our doctors. Remember #SelfCare Is Not Selfish. If you haven’t seen your doctor or general health care provider, dentist, eye doctor, etc…within the last year; make yourself a priority and schedule a appointment as soon as possible. Before your appointment, write down a list of questions or issues to take with you. If you are due for any general screenings, follow up exams or vaccinations, please be sure you follow through accordingly. It’s never too late to start taking better care of yourself by making regular visits to your doctor. And when you take care of yourself, you are better equipped to take care of those around you. Health professionals stress that regular exams are crucial to help identify potential problems before they become serious. If diseases are caught early, treatments are usually much more effective. By seeing your doctor regularly and getting the proper health care, you are taking important steps toward living a longer, healthier life. Show yourself some love and schedule an appointment today.
